I was in two minds about this book every time I was sat reading it... but I did finish it because I just had to find out what happened. Saying that I didn't find it as addictive as other psychological thrillers... There was just something about it that had me questioning whether I liked it. Also, if you're sensitive to hunting/animal abuse this one is a little hectic sometimes.
The story itself is good but at least 50% or more is told as flashback and I don't care for that style.

Really engaging and well-written. Dionne manages to write an excellent and convincing main character despite the fact that she's in some very different places (physically, emotionally, and from a maturity standpoint) throughout the novel. And the father's ability to be both loving and sadistically controlling and abusive is chilling. Great overall, couldn't put it down.
Oh, and Emily Rankin's narration is FANTASTIC.

A compelling read with unexpected depths of feelings. Found it very hard to put down.
