Completely unexpected. I was simply riveted to the story. Its not a traditional mystery or psychological thriller, but it is wonderful. We get to experience Helena's conflicting emotions about her off the grid childhood and abusive father while enjoying a thrilling game of hide and seek in the present.

I thought the premise was very interesting and definitely found myself engrossed in the story, but the way the main character talks about her mother really disturbed me - and I supposed on some level that's the point, but it's hard to then empathize with her when her realization that it's bad seemed lackluster
