This audiobook was a quick listen. I did not predict the ending. This book was suspenseful. The manipulation was intense. 

While there are many content warnings for this book (as there are for most mystery/thriller books in general), I do not think that the author went into graphic detail about triggering things (which is good). For example, TW:

infidelity

: there was frequent mentioning of the event occurring, but not explicit detailed descriptions that I felt like was overly in-depth. I think the author did a great job of describing the things in the content warning, but overall kept it brief, so that it wouldn’t be triggering/activating for most readers. 


The only part that I found confusing was how many characters to keep track of. I made a list and will put it under the spoiler’s section.

This book reminded me of “You Shouldn’t Have Come Here” because of the ending and the TV show “The Resident” because of the Manipulation

Moderate: Car accident, Death, Blood, Infidelity, and Toxic relationship

Minor: Vomit, Pregnancy, Alcohol, and Infertility

This book wasn’t overly graphic about most details, which was appreciated. The ending was a bit more graphic, but was still manageable. I didn’t find it triggering/activating. The biggest content warning would be for manipulation.

This was an okay story, but I kept waiting for the big climax moment that seemed to come really late. Like it seemed kinda clear what was ~going on~, and I was waiting for the reveal. But I do love a little wrap-up epilogue.
