Addicting. Could not put it down, hence reading it in a day. Everything flowed together perfectly!

Really enjoyed this. Similar vibe to The Monkey's Paw but with more developed characters. Not sure how I feel knowing it's a series considering how satisfying the end was.

3 ⭐️ - It was ok
It’s hard to rate novellas. I enjoyed the idea in the book.
It would raise interesting questions and conversations.
What would I do if I was in Gwendy’s shoes.
Worth a read.

This book sees a pre-teen Gwendy be given a box during her summer holiday. The box has a variety of nooks and crannies that maintain her interest. The problem is that the box may be haunted. It gives her the things she wants, but at what cost?

The rest of the story traces the impact of said box on her life.

It was a decent read. I wasn’t convinced by the central idea, but if you can get over that, you’ll enjoy the book.

Very good and fun story and just judging it on its own merits it is a great standalone story

I do have a couple of issues with this story though, biggest, Richard Farris, our old pal The Man in Black sure seems a lot friendlier here than he has been everywhere else, there doesn't seem to be any malevolence to him and he seems to actually be working toward the good, and he doesn't even unsettle Gwendy, this just doesn't feel like Roland's ancient enemy.

Second, it doesn't seem to need to be a Castle Rock story or even seem to fit into Castle Rock either.

But don't let either of these issues keep you away from this fun story.

I did not like this. I read it really fast because it was easy to read and had big letters but I didn't enjoy it.

There was no plot in this book. It felt like nothing was happening the entire time. The ending was really strange and it didn't make much sense either.

The characters were really superficial and weren't realistic at all. They had no depth to them.

I wouldn't recommend you read this book. It was boring and sort of repetative. I couldn't even tell you what was going on because it was a whole lot of nothing.
