insanely moved by “the mother” by daniele bernardi. runners up were: “the assault”, “cowardice” and “the final letter” by salomón de le selva. i also greatly appreciate this as my introduction to korean poetry. it feels dire, extremely complex (meant in the best of ways) and highly empathetic/emotional! the picks also exemplified the range in topic and style.
