Some interesting basic premises, and a reasonably solid plot, but the writing is painfully bad. The author thanks editors and a whole team, but they were pretty much phoning it in. Huge info dumps, page after page of stodgy backstory, and very little sense of drama. I must try to remember ta avoid this writer in future.

This was so poorly written. I don't understand why the author would write a main character who is supposed to be magical but has no intuition and needs everything to hit her like a ton of bricks before she can comprehend.
