Barker certainly has a way with words! I loved the realistic dialogue, descriptive language that helped me picture the scenes without feeling overwrought, and the clever turns of phrase. If you are looking for a unique set of short horror stories that evokes everything from visceral nastiness to sudden shocks to slowly creeping dread, check out Books of Blood.

Clive Barker will always be one of my favorite authors.
It was my first time readimg fhe anthology that put Clive Barker onto the main stream map.
The anthology was excelent.

I was super excited to read a Clive Barker book. He's responsible for two of the scariest movies of all time.

I was sadly, and severely, disappointed.

Severely.

To the extreme.

Not even worth discussing any of these stories. Not even a little.
