Volume 2 of The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting is a great, fun follow up to the first volume. We start out where we left off with Yaeka going to see her mother in the hospital. We see a heartwarming moment between mother and daughter before we get right back into some hijinks yet again. At the start of the volume, we run into Aoi, an ex-member of the Sakuragi family, and his son, Kouki. These two might be my favorite side characters thus far. There's the underlying heartwarming bit, and Kouki is a pretty typical, bratty kid. We go from there with a few more stories from the next few weeks? Months? Time is passing, that's all that matters, right?

I think I have less to say about this volume. It's easy to read and as amusing as the first one was. This series is a lighthearted one that can help break up the heavy, longer series that take a while to get through. The quality in story and artwork has remained the same if not gotten a slight bit better than the previous volume. I mostly say that because I noticed in the first volume sometimes Yaeka's head would look at bit... big for her body? There were only like two panels that made me notice. Anyways, I enjoyed it.

Though, I will say some of the side characters are a bit much for my taste. I get that they bring a little life to the very serious and solemn family, but they just aren't my cup of tea. I'm mostly looking at Hanada and Sara for this. I'm basically just glad that their parts went by quickly, and they didn't get written in any more than just one chapter or so. I could see myself struggling if they were featured for like multiple chapters in a row. I liked the little
romance thing
with Hanada, but I'm glad we introduced that and let it lie.

I did mark yes to the character growth, but I will say I think the growth is mostly in the minor characters.
Aoi, mostly.
Yaeka a little bit at the start, but I think the main cast of characters remain mostly the same. Which is fine. This isn't really the series that I expect the characters to have some major moments of realization every chapter. That would be weird.

This one is super cute, and I can't wait to read more of it.
