I love everything about this book,
from the content warnings at the beginning,
the LGBTQIA+ and BI&POC representation,
the magic, the characters and their depth,
the found and chosen family (especially without any horrible and abusive original family),
to the end that’s conclusive (as in not a cliffhanger) but still promising more – because I desperately want more of this.

It was ok. I think my expectations for this were waaay too high. I love the both the found family and the road trip trope so i was really excited to pick this up but unfortunately it was just meh. The characters were ok, I liked them, but i didn’t love them or feel attached to them. 

Also the swearing?? I mean, I’m not a total grandma, I don’t really mind it usually but it just felt so out of place in this book. Like you know when you start reading something and you immediately know its for a younger audience, because of the way the story and characters are written. But then these characters, who wouldn’t have seemed out of place in Percy Jackson, were swearing every other sentence. It just felt out of place.

The most enjoyable part of this book was keeping tally of all the typos (76!!!). 

Not my cup of tea in the first place and then sloppily and unsatisfactorily executed.

only reason its a four is bc of spelling mistakes and like a few really bad plot holes (and also how slow it was for a hot minute). the characters are beautifully written. the dialogue is amazing. i genuinely loved this book
