funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

I liked it. I don’t think I’d ever reread, but it’s definitely a page turner. A dramatic yet lighthearted and fun read. It could have been shorter and had the same effect.

This book was so much fun to read. It seems like a simple romance about an ordinary girl and a prince, but it is so much more. The POV which it employs is so fun to read and enjoyable. There are so many twists and turns even up until the very end. It is gorgeously done!!

This book seemed to take forever to read and I found myself skimming parts of it.

So slow and dragged out should’ve DNF’d this

Almost DNF this book, but I stuck with it. It's so boring, and I didn't feel a thing between the Nick and Bex. The book was too long--the characters did essentially the same things over and over throughout the ten years that the book spans--and the writing was honestly a bit elementary. It's really just a drawn-out, bland fanfic in my opinion.

I'm really just glad the pain is over. *Plays slamming audiobook fade out music*

This is William and Kate fanfic, that's it. That's the story. American Rebecca (Bex) goes to Oxford for adventure, and happens to meet Prince Nicholas. They end up falling in love but there are countless struggles in their way.

This is totally a case of "what the FUCK happened?". For the first 30% of this book, it was so adorable and fun. It was a cute story of an American meeting and falling for a Prince, along with just hanging out in college and bonding with their friends. Slowly, oh so slowly the bad starts creeping in: they break up and then the rest of the book is endless pointless drama where it all leads back to the same place anyway. I didn't even mind the aftermath of their breakup and how messy Bex was after it but it just kept going on. This book is in a bunch of different parts and each part gets even worse.

Someone dies at 60% and I thought it would bother me and make me drop it then but uhhh, no. This book is so emotionless even with all these supposed emotions. I barely noticed and it was moved on quickly except for a mention or two down the line. Also after a certain point in their relationship, it wasn't even cute. None of it was even fun, it was just pain.

I don't know how much I can bring home how ENTIRELY ENDLESS this book was but it did not want to end and it was driving me crazy. This goddamn audiobook is almost 18 hours long (which isn't even the longest audiobook I've ever listened to) and it felt like it was triple that. It just keeps going and going and going and going. It did not want to end, and I just begged the audiobook gods to free me from this prison of stupid, meaningless drama (that wasn't even good drama!).

I really wanted to give this book 2 stars because of how much I enjoyed the cute romcom feel of the beginning but the rest of the book and how much I couldn't stand it in the end cancels any happy feelings out.

I'm a little bit mad about the end, but I liked it a lot more than I was expected. Light, good read. Especially if you need a pauper to princess kinda thing.
