I just finished reading Hooked and it was exactly the book I needed to read right now. I laughed, I cried (which I was not expecting) and I found myself rooting for the main characters. I love when stories are told from multiple points of view and this one did not disappoint. When the story started I thought it was going to be a good RomCom but as it progressed it really touched on deeper topics and gave me “the feels”. 😊 Looking forward to reading the next in the Hearts of Stone Series. Hope you enjoy!

I got Hooked directly from Christine, I wanted a signed copy of this series and she was kind enough to sell me her books SIGNED !
HOOKED was great, sweet, funny and sexy but at the same time really heart breaking and heavy. I wasn't excepting the sub plot with Cat's family and even if her story is sometimes overwhelming I can relate to her and understand her attitude toward others and her trust issues.

Huck is your typical book boyfriend ! I won't say more you'll have to discover him by yourself ! please do <3

One of my favorite character was Jay, I loved the dynamic between him and Cat and wish to have a best friend like they do ! I want him to have his own book !!! wink*wink*

Refreshingly different female lead and location. A bit too much back and forth for my taste, but still a good read!

Great read. I loved all of the characters. Cat is a skater artsy chick, Huck is an all around hot guy who wouldn't look out of place in a photo shoot. Jay is the loveable laughable roommate. Both Cat and Huck have alter-egos, and sparks fly when they finally meet.

This book deals with cancer with class and dignity. My heart broke during the final scene with Anita.

I was also pleasantly surprised when the book started talking about my home state of MD along with some of the attractions, festivals, and all things Baltimore.

I am reviewing this book for Kylie's Fiction Addiction. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book a 4.5 stars, i absolutely loved it !
Cat,Cate,The wicked bitch of west coast was one of the best female characters i read about, she was hilarious with the right amount of snark and sass, for once in this genre i didn't have to wonder what made the guy fall in love with her because even i did.. and i'm picky.
Jay was even better and i wish he was more in the book, his accidental 'friendship' with Huck was pure gold.
it was a light read with an easy text and mesmerizing words, it was unexpected and very intriguing but most of all it made me laugh.
i kinda felt it was a bit rushed with Huck's words at first but it turned out well; i would recommend this to anyone looking for a different creative fun romance read ♥

Author: Christine Manzari

Genre: NA, Romance

Stars: 2/5

*The author of this book sent me this paperback copy in exchange for an honest review, so don’t expect anything less than that. I will always give an honest review, be it a positive one or a negative one.*

After reading two books that I didn’t love in a row, I was really really hoping that this one would do the trick and get me out of my reading slump. After reading the description of the book, I figured I’d give it a try.

I enjoyed HOOKED, but I didn’t fall in love with it..It started really good then everything changed and it started to get predictable which I hate. The problem is with the main characters.

First Cat: Cat isn’t an easy woman to live with. She’s not an easy woman to handle. She is strong and surrounded by walls, unbreakable walls -she thought so- I loved Cat, I connected with her. She was a passionate woman, about almost everything she loved. Aaaaand then she started to get annoying. Kept arguing about everything and making a big deal out of nothing.

Huck was different. I couldn’t predict which route he would be picking. He surprised me and amazed me. Meeting Cat was his turning point, from day one and he somehow admitted and accepted it. I loved Huck, a lot. But I always wanted more from him. I didn’t like it when he gave the chance for Cat’s dominance. It didn’t sit right with me. And let’s not forget the love at first sight!!

Jay was awesome!! I loved him and how he became fast friends with Huck. I loved him and the relationship between him and Cat. He’s probably my favorite character!

I understood Cat in the beginning although I never approved of her actions and that impeded my enjoyment of the book but as it progressed, I just became fed up and annoyed. It is so predictable and uses a formula common in YA contemporaries. The writing is lovely at first but afterwards I found it rather excessive and just started skimming parts.
