Nothing happens until like the last 3 chapters. Poppy and Casteel are so cringey I was getting second hand embarrassment. What hurts the most is that I acc really liked the first book and this series had SO MUCH POTENTIAL…sigh.

Every 2 pages there is mention of her violent stabbing tendencies MY GOSH. We get it she’s badass

Amazing! Though I understand her feelings in the beginning I still couldn’t wait for the romance to develop. The witty banter, would shocking twists, and unbelievably steamy scenes this book had me hook, line, and sinker from the very beginning. Casteel is my new standard for men. The o my reason it’s not a 5 star rating is because I was so confused the whole time how she and  could be so obliviously in love and she couldn’t tell that neither of them were pretending. Though I guess that’s the curse of most in love when reciprocity isn’t certain. Even so, this series never fails to amaze me!

I definitely liked it but it wasn’t the best written in my opinion. There are some inconsistencies and parts where it feels like it is getting repeated but overall decent story.
