I kept reading because I wanted to know the ending. I liked the story, but it didn't completely grasp me. I feel somewhat disappointed. Yet it was worth the read. Confusing, I know!

Didn't love this one the way I loved the Book Thief, but still liked it very much. Sometimes it's a little long on the mother-hate, and, a little repetitive with Audrey, and some of the tasks, enjoyable nonetheless.

This book is so different to any book I’ve read. It’s like a surrealist painting located in a very real, down on their luck, Australian town. The journey was surprising and twisty and the ending left me confused but also somehow made sense in the context of the whole journey. It’s a captivating book but definitely have to be prepared for something unlike anything else.
