was excited to start off women in translation month with this one but idk this book felt very… meh to me :/

felt kind of interested in the characters, kind of not. kind of invested in the story, kind of not. kind of understood the themes the author was getting at, kind of felt weird abt the execution.

like janina girl i get that you don’t like hunting and you’re angry that these assholes killed your dogs but don’t transmute that into “all hunting is evil” bc it absolutely isn’t that black and white. and jesus christ dont go murdering hunters bc of it

i was kind of into janina’s characterization though. did come off like a nutty old woo-woo lady but also had lots of depth to her. loved the random proper nouns honestly, really contributed to her characterization, what with her Ailments and her Astrology

but idk it fell a bit flat for me in the end. oh well. anyway back to watching my sister purchase Doe Tags for my Father so we can hopefully have some Venison in the Freezer this winter
