Julien’s writing is something magical. I went into this story not knowing anything (because why read the synopsis?) and she immediately drew me in. The story was dark and compelling, I couldn’t put it down (although I had to because adulting is lame). Plus, anything that has a Harry Potter reference gets a thumbs up in my book. I’m looking forward to reading A Spectacle of Souls that comes out in June, which this story is a prequel for.
