Well, no I haven't actually read it cover to cover.... it is a reference book more than a reading book after all.
I have browsed, sampled it, and delved into it so much that it is quickly approaching the status of good friend however. Quite simply, it is jam packed with creative solutions to the constant problem of having all the ingredients to a recipe but one.
Well laid out, sometimes creative, and always worthwhile the book is allowing me to move well beyond just thinking about cooking and actually doing some real cooking rather than just following a few basic and well known recipes by rote.
