a well done medieval atmosphere, takes less than an hour to devour, and delivers a gut punch using one of my favorite themes:

ES:

Esta historia corta me dejó llorando y con el corazón tiritando.
Creo que es una narración muy potente y delicada al mismo tiempo, por lo que se muestra la capacidad de Alix E. Harrow para construir historias que te rodean, te abrazan y se quedan contigo.

Creo que voy a leer a esta autora siempre.

EN:

I was captured by this story and, by the end, I was trembling and crying. I could not put it down. This story was weaving with care, mastery in the writing craft and the darkness of legend-type of stories. Creating a complex narrative that expands through few pages while giving characters the flesh and complexity they need while they also had this halo of mystery.

If it could, I would expand this world and stay in it for a little bit more time.

I read it while taking the train to somewhere. And this piece! It’s slightly haunting but extremely Beautiful. And yes, with a capital b! I love how you go through the cycle of the life
from a little girl made to be the Devil to turn out to be the Saint of War. Only to finally understand at the end what’s important!
It’s been very well made and it’s also my first time reading Alix’ writing style. I love it. This is among my favourite books now.

time loop stories are always a bit of a mindfvck for me, and the six deaths of the saint is no different. what differentiates this one, however, is how short and concise it is, yet it still packs quite an emotional punch. the saint and gwynne's story also ends up being surprisingly touching towards the end, and the former's character development - albeit over centuries - is great. the externalities arent overly highlighted as the story's so focused on the saint's inner life, but it's def an interesting one.

There are no saints. And love is a tragedy.
