Hmmm, they could've done more with this book. I was expecting more inspirational, more educational, but it was mostly just diary entries and a chronology of their trip. Short, but forgetful.

I love women! Doing things! Being cool! And also having a much bigger purpose than just conquering a mountain or being the first dude bro to make a trek. Let’s go girls

Loved the book. Amazing Story and liked the format between the two authors. Knowing a key part of the team, also added considerably to my enjoyment of the book.

It took me very little time to read this book. It went very quickly. Woven from both explorers memories/diaries as well as a person who meshed those stories together with what was going on off the continent of Antarctica, this story seemed to be a nice companion piece to their descriptions of their website. Liv and Ann make the first women's only expedition across Antarctica. They also make it into a world-wide teaching program. (an added bonus for me: they also had a GS program and badge that accompanied their travels!!) I cannot explain why I loved this book so much. Their enthusiam is infectious. As well as the fact that I was once bitten by the Anne Fadiman bug of wanting to learn more about explorers like Shackleton and Scott.

Having finished the book today I went to the website to see and learn more.. their teaching tools are no longer currently available, but their next expedition is described! They plan on taking 6 women from the 6 continents to the 7th continent! I plan on keeping up with their travels.
