Terrible book! I want my 3 hours back. I liked the first one, this one was just a cash grab and we were liars absolutely did not need a prequel let alone one so full of plot holes and boring as this one!

This one was good too. I think not quite as good as the first one, but still a quick, easy, enthralling read. It’s a prequel, set before the events of the first novel, but has spoilers for the first one, so read it second. This novel follows Carrie, Cadence’s aunt in her seventeenth summer on the island, exploring the secrets her family keeps and the relationships of the three sisters. It helps to explain how Cady’s mom and aunts ended up the way they are. I liked the voice in the first book, but this book had the exact same voice, even though our narrator is a different character. Would have loved to see some variation in the voice.
