This book was nothing less than amazing. Why haven't I picked it up before? Well, I guess I didn't know I needed a sci-fi/ fantasy with necromancy, sword fights, sickening gore, terrifying horrors and deliciously dark humour. I did need it. 

The book is filled with important details, a wide range of characters, surprising twists, turns and hidden gems, and my ADHD brain forced me to to stop up at times and re-read certain parts, but that's not a complaint. I'm often an impatient reader, so the fact that I'm invested enough to go back and re-read earlier patagraphs, is probably one of the best compliments I can give an author.

What more can I say? I loved this book. So good. Now, I'm diving into the next one in the series. I have no idea what will happen next, but I am certain that it will hurt, confuse me and amaze me. Can't wait.

Found this in a booktok recs for people who liked Arcane (aka me) and shortly after saw someone online calling Gideon and Vi very similar so decided to give it a try. 
Ngl I couldn't drop it once I began reading the first page. It's been the first book I read in less than a week for the first time in ages. I laughed and yell and sobbed.

Really good! A true sci-fi novel, great world-building, and very entertaining. Not enough lesbian content but kinda glad it wasn't romance lead. Great action and awesome twists. Highly recommend! I am going to re-read and write a more in-depth review - this book definitely deserves it!

Practically a perfect book. I both wish I had the finess and talent to write this, and wish that I could erase it from my memory to experience for the first time again. <The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the ending DESTROYED me and I was so upset. Have high hopes for the rest of the series though. Edit: upon review, and after reading Harrow the Ninth, it absolutely gets 5 stars :).>
