This one started out a little rocky for me - the opening chapter was pretty meh, and the introduction to Sophie and Nikolas wasn't overly engaging either.
That said, the storyline improved a lot. I found the world building interesting, and though the heroine and hero occasionally grated on me, they were both likeable.
Sophie, thankfully, was a well rounded, capable character. Her background was unique, and she wasn't a silly damsel (I do like kick butt heroines). Nikolas, typically handsome, lethal and very manly, was somewhat annoying with his temper. I lost count of how many times he roared/seethed/pulsed with rage. But! The more intimate scenes were believable, and I only rolled my eyes a couple of times
