There were elements of this book which I really enjoyed and I thought was very cleverly done, and then there were parts of it which really grated on me. The book is uniquely told from the point of view of a magpie. It is often quite light and funny and then it descends into darkness and you see the worst of human nature. The element of the bird going viral online seemed to devalue the book to me, even though this was a pivotal part of the plot development. I sit on the fence as to whether it was a little bit of brilliance or if it was two different stories which didn't get gel together.

Very cool pov, great suspense
