While reading this novel I felt like the author did not waste any page for unnecessary information, everything was given to build an emotional ending. It also made it a plot-driven book, so while there are some important character developments here, the reader has to wait for them and to not expect longer descriptions of the emotional state of the characters or longer discussions between them. The ending did not surprise me, but I still really appreciate its cleverness and the planning that was put into it. I definetely recommend it to someone for whom this is one of their first YA romantasy. Those who already read thousands of books like that, especially about faerie, and want something new and original might be left a bit disappointed.

Moral of the story, it's spelled "Man"ipulation for a reason. Brie deserves an Anti-hero arc. I support women's rights, but more importantly I support women's wrongs.
