This book had me throwing theories out left and right. I was on the edge of my seat as Brie's journey with Sebastian and Finn unfolded. All of the twists and turns that you embark on as Brie tries to save her sister from the Unseelie King has my mind reeling. And the ending? It made me need to pick up the second book to this duology IMMEDIATELY.

An interesting story and I'm excited to read the sequel. The author uses male and female instead of man and woman in most instances which, despite understanding the reasoning behind it given the story, still gives me an ick.

I enjoyed this book for the fae drama and the struggles with the romance but other than that it really wasn't that great of a read for me. I didn't find the character development enjoyable and the plot didn't kick in until the last thirty percent of the book or so.
Even though one of the big plot points was getting MC's sister back, she's completely forgotten about often throughout the progression of the story.
All in all it was enjoyable but not one of my favorite reads.

Okay hear me out: I know, objectively, this is not very good. The writing is very lackluster and repetitive and the book as a whole lacked editing. BUT if you have a fairy world fantasy itch that can’t seem to get scratched, this will do it. I really enjoyed this, despite the predicability and eye-roll worthy protagonist. It’s fun! So sue me. You get exactly what you expect, in my humble opinion.
Side note: there are a lot ( a LOT ) of reviews calling this an ACOTAR rip off and, while there are some minor similarities, I don’t feel that way at all. Sorry not sorry.

I lovedddddd this book with ever fibre of my being! Real life fairytale vibes and was a magical reading experience!! I was able to guess some key twists and turns but the major one I didn't see coming!! I went through every emotion possible whilst reading too! Love, anger, rage, jealousy, sadness! All of them which to me shows the talent of the author !! I haven't read many love triangle books but this one definitely hit its mark and I loved it! I also really enjoyed the little snippets we get of the side characters, some of which I loved just as much as the main characters!
Also love a FMC in a YA fantasy!
The characters were loveable and the plot was so intriguing and it really was a page turner! Highly recommended and I can't wait to read the sequel!!

The book was enjoyable but also annoying. An easy read and derivative from other similar books in this genre, but sometimes that hits the spot. I do hate the author's persistence of referring to men and women as "male" and "female," it's pretty terfy.

Personally I didn't enjoy this book. The premise was promising but the execution fell flat. The whole first half felt very much like ACOTAR fanfiction.

And the ending was not satisfying for me. I guessed a lot of what was going to happen by chapter 10 and almost everything else by chapter 19.

This felt like the miscommunication trope to the extreme which has never been a favorite. There were so many places where honesty could have made a better story.
