I absolutely loved this book about Amelia and Asher. It was a fantastic read and Asher is an absolute sweetheart, who is sweet, kind, caring and full on alpha. He also has his insecurities and secrets. Amelia is a complex character who can be independent and a little grumpy, but she has a history that haunts her and makes her guarded. Together they are a wonderful combination that unites in passion.
Fantastic characters and brilliant continuity of the southern series.

I've been patiently waiting for Amelia's story. And it didn't disappoint. My heart broke with her. Asher, my goodness. I fell in love with him so hard. This story was perfect in all ways!

I couldn’t follow along in this book. There were too many characters, too many things going on, I couldn’t tell who was married, who was family, and who was friends. The “twist” at the end felt incomplete & like it was done half-heartedly.

I think if I had read the first six books in this series first, it might have been a better reading experience, but tbh - not sure that would have helped.

I want to be completely transparent - I think I would've given this book a higher rating had I not read it as a standalone.

Honestly, I only stuck it out because I was curious about the answers to the vague suspense throughout the book. I got the answers at the end but I was confused for about the last 30% of this book. There were way too many characters for this book to be considered an interconnected standalone.

Also, the author used the word c*ck 18 times in one sex scene and I could hardly stand it.

This book was everything I needed today.

I love this world that Natasha Madison created.

Amelia was independent and stubborn to the core, she had her heart broken and that was all it took for her to realize that type of pain wasn’t for her, and so she closed off her heart and went full force at making her dreams come true.

Asher was fairly new in town and had been working on the farm. He stole my heart immediately, he had every reason to have been a bitter person, and yet, to the very depths of who was, was the very best kind of man.

The chemistry between Amelia and Asher pulsated through the air when they were near one another, and yet for completely different reasons they continuously acted as if they didn’t feel it. You know what ignoring it did, helped fuel it until neither of them had a choice, a painful slow burn turned into an explosion that neither of them would be able to walk away from.

Natasha Madison is a master of delivering a story that keeps you turning the pages, and at times you are torn between reading as fast as you can and going at a snail’s pace, if only to allow you to spend more time immersed in the world she created.

Southern Secrets is a spellbinding blend of intoxicating chemistry, a swoony hero, a sassy heroine, a tension filled slow-burn, heart racing suspense, jaw-dropping moments, feels that caused a few tears to fall, and a family teeming with unconditional love.

Asher and Amelia have great chemistry.

Amelia is a really strong character and Asher compliments her well. They have a workplace relationship with the added element of forced proximity. Asher has had a rough start to his life compared to Amelia who's had this constant support from her amazing family unit. But Asher is the one who has to win over Amelia's trust since her last boyfriend completely destroyed that. Now Amelia has become an independent woman and Asher has his work cut out for him.

There are some twists in this story that I didn't see coming but to say Amelia's family are tied up in a lot of high-tech security, I'm surprised some of the scenes happened as they did. The twist added to the whole series and I loved the addition to this family that Natasha has created.

Asher and Amelia’s story is such a sweet, yet heartbreaking one that keeps you on your toes and falling in love with them so much. Amelia has been burnt in the past and has vowed to never allow it again, she will do things her way and her way only so when Asher starts to get closer to her, she feels overwhelmed. She doesn’t want to feel anything for him, yet he is always there at family gatherings, working for her family, helping her at her bar, or staying at her house for the time being. Asher has always felt something for Amelia since he came to town, he works hard, loves her family as if they were his own, but he knows Amelia has her walls built up so high should he even try to scale them because he has secrets of his own. These two are perfect for each other, but so much stands in their way especially themselves. Asher feels as if he doesn’t deserve someone like her because of his past and Amelia doesn’t want something with him because its too painful to let anyone in. My heart for them both because they deserve it all even if they think they don’t. With so many ups, downs, twists, turns you don’t see a lot that is coming their way, but it keeps you invested in their story and has you hoping for them to be able to help each other see they deserve each other. I loved this story, the characters, it all and I can’t wait to see more from this series. This author has me invested in this family and their stories from day one and every book is an adventure of its own!!
