This book was so sweet and lovely. I could relate with the female lead, and the book did exactly what I wanted/needed and gave me the warm and fuzzy feeling I was looking for!

I finished this on Christmas Eve and can't think of a cozier read at this time of year.

Carmen is used to being her family's mess to sort out, but it feels extra humbling finding herself dependent on her perfect older sister Sofia for temporary housing and a job opportunity. Sofia, the busiest woman on the planet, always has a project and her current project is getting a mouldering bookshop into a sellable state by the holidays. Schlepping all around Edinburgh, part-time nannying Sofia's feisty brood, and trying to salvage a business for a man who seems allergic to marketing is not how Carmen wanted to be spending the holidays. Unbeknownst to her though, the bookshop is full of surprises.

A little bit of romance, a lot of interesting family dynamics and maybe just the tiniest touch of magic. A lot of fun. And really... someone make this into a movie, why don't you?

3.5 stars. Cute Christmas read.

I went into this thinking it was going to be a cute christmas romance and I was disappointed. For me the characters lacked depth and I didn't feel any connection between the love interests. Suddenly Carmen realised she was in love with a man whose name she didn't even know.

For me this book was more about the relationship between Carmen and her sister. That relationship had the most depth in this book, which was surprising.
