The characters have no chemistry, the insta love is ridiculous, it's not very well written (it seriously reads like fanfiction) and there are so many clichés I couldn't count them all.
This book was clearly not for me.

This fun rom-com did remind me a little bit of you have got mail. Elle, the heroine, runs her late mother’s bakery and then a handsome hot rich dude opens up a cake shop next door. She is conflicted to him and is suspicious of him, but she falls for him nevertheless. Then there is a mystery of a stealth of a recipe and certain other ridiculous events which cause her to suspect him more. Slowly the mystery unfolds and all well, that ends well. A hilarious sweet rom com with a mystery twist to it. I enjoyed this book.

It was a cute read. Had some really sweet moments mixed with some sad moments. Things went pretty fast even though it was about 250 pages. I felt the relationship between Zane and Elle was rushed. There wasn't much of them spending time together or getting to know each other. I expected a little more. More tension, more time together. It just felt too rushed even for a longer book. Still, overall, I enjoyed the read and will continue to read about Peyton and her boss

I really disliked this book and although some of that comes from the style of writing, there’s also poor characterisation  and development of time. I found the characters annoying throughout the whole book, they did stupid unrealistic things repeatedly and I did not care about them at all. I also could not grasp how poor the development of time and relationship was, within a month the characters met and Elle hated him instantly, then she falls in love over one dance class and then hates him again and then loves him again. Then they suddenly spend a weekend at his place and they’re falling in love and bringing up the idea of marriage. Then she decides she has to give up everything unnecessarily to care for someone and in a chapter we’re expected to believe 6 months have gone by based on a few letters. Suddenly there’s a huge, cringe worthy proposal after they haven’t seen each other in a year and they’d barely kissed 4 times. There are just so many flaws with this book and I promise you there are better romcoms out there that don’t read like they were written in an hour as an English assignment.

“It reminds me that no matter how unpredictable life is, the Earth is always moving. And no matter how big my problems feel, in comparison to the universe out there, I and all of my worries are very small. It keeps me grounded.”

This was lighthearted, funny and emotional. I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance. I instantly fell in love with the main characters, Elle and Zane, they were relatable with brilliantly built back stories. I was in this from the note to the reader at the beginning, which made me laugh and caught my attention. The book flowed nicely, so although I read it quickly, it didn’t feel too fast-paced for an enemies to lovers.

I thought this was going to be a big-standard predictable book, but there was much more to this, I should say there are trigger warnings of severe illness/death, oh and smelly trout! I don’t joke, read it and find out! It also made me want to dig into a box of freshly baked brownies!

10 out of 10 for Elle and Zane and this lighthearted romance! Brilliant!

This is a very nice quick read.
Elle Brook and Zane have a sizzling chemistry. The story felt like a the standard Romance comedy one your see. I think the characters could of been deepen and the story flushed out a bit more 3.5/5 for me.
