I will have to read this more than once to allow it to soak in, but this is a lovely collection of love poems. I recently visited 2 of Neruda's homes in Chile, and became curious about his work. Very enjoyable read and looking forward to revisiting this and reading other poems by Neruda.
What a marvelous slim volume. Pocket-sized to inspire you to carry it along and pull yourself away from drear life into luscious love.
Love in all it's form. Sensual, passionate, willful, consuming. Beautiful poems.
This edition is a true printed delight. I can only hope that as ebooks take over, more and more physical books will take a style of love and care like this edition.

This book is nostalgic for me because of the meaning behind it, but I can’t honestly say it’s one of my favorite poetry books!

I will always love this book no matter how many times I reread it. forever and ever.
Beautiful in the Spanish, simple enough to progress my practice after completing Duolingo and a study of a book of grammar. Highly recommend -- but, not so great in english (as poetry). It's nearly literal (not quite in places) and that's no way to translate poetry.
it's raw & beautiful, capturing love in its many forms—passion, longing, and heartbreak. each poem is sensual & hypnotic, drawing you into the depths of emotion.
“Take bread away from me, if you wish,
take air away, but
do not take from me your laughter.”

ok so i have a crush on pablo neruda's writing now
like just look at this
You too were a little leaf
that trembled on my chest.
Life’s wind put you there.
At first I did not see you: I did not know
that you were walking with me,
until your roots
pierced my chest,
joined the threads of my blood,
spoke through my mouth,
flourished with me.

I'm very new to poetry but I enjoyed this collection of Pablo Neruda's poems. I will revisit these when I want to be inspired and read something beautiful- these are the only love poems I've ever been interested in.
