Sometimes I really wonder if some authors have ever met another human being.

First of all: a huge trigger warning for rape and sexual harassment (which is permanently excused), murder, torture, stalking, kidnapping, human trafficking and all that also related to children.

This was just the most nonsensical plot I have ever read. Feel like I stumbled into a Random Conspiracy theory group on Reddit. The sex scenes made me nauseous. "I am so full" 🤢🤮. Bruh how did a woman write that? Reads itself like it was written by a man who only watches porn.

Just don't read this garbage. Why did I read it? IDK but I will burn it at the next chance I get.

The ending…. I hate it here. Other than that the book is pretty good. The smut is intense beyond words and the mystery with her great grandmothers death had me on the edge of my seat. I’m reading to read the next one 🤭 CHECK TW!!!!!! 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it is not for the faint of heart. There’s also some inconsistencies that hopefully will be addressed in the second book.

Wow this was such an amazing book. It had my emotions all over the place. Constantly back and forth and up and down. I almost never wanted to put it down needing to know what happens next.

I absolutely love Zade and Adeline. They are phenomenal together. I love the little cat and mouse game they play together. And I love how Adeline loves being scared and how Zade plays into that fear.

Now don't get me wrong there's some absolutely disgusting things in this book that made me absolutely angry. And it's very graphic about it too. But it makes me love Zade more because he's out there fighting against the bad guys doing these absolutely horrid things to women and children. And he's not doing it to avenge a horrible past or anything as he's always had a good childhood and parents, he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart even if many would find his tactics and methods wrong. His way actually gets things done.

And the side story with the mystery of Adeline's great grandmothers(Genevieve/Gigi) murder. Absolutely phenomenal as well. I guessed the killer pretty early on even though it's not in your face out there. The guy just gave me bad vibes from the moment he was introduced even though he's only seen in diary entries. Although the reasons behind him killing Gigi was what shocked me. I never guessed the motive behind the murder so I still found some surprise in the reveal of the murderer and who helped cover up the murder shocked me as well.

It's safe to say this was definitely a very hot and often scary read. And I loved seeing the meeting of Sibel (Sibby) and Zade from Zade's pov this time as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed Haunting Adeline. The urge to re-read always lingers! This book is a VERY dark romance and is definitely not suitable for the lighthearted. It touches on extremely sensitive and uncomfortable topics (read content warnings!), so if you think you can't handle it, I strongly don't recommend this novel! However, in my opinion, Haunting Adeline is a well-written novel in most aspects and absolutely PERFECTS the horror genre! I got chills while reading some scenes and really admired how it has the ability to provoke emotion so easily!

Jesus. Christ. This book.
I would never recommend this book to anyone, simply because of the insane amount of trigger warnings and very very sketchy romance. However, I did really enjoy it. I'm still a bit new to the romance scene, and this was my first dark romance that wasn't just fanfic on AO3. The writing was...questionable. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it wasn't bad either.
Character creation was also a bit sketch, Addie was very dumb and annoying at times and Zade was just so goddamn "edgy" that it made me cringe a lot at the start of the book. But I did get used to it, and I felt that the way he was written got a bit better by the end of the book.
There were a few word choices that almost made me put the book down, particularly when Zade called some people *eggplant*lickers as an insult. It was completely out of the blue and made me very uncomfortable, but I chose to just read on, and I didn't come across anything in that vein for the rest of the book.
Now please, please please look up any and all trigger warnings before you even think about reading this book. I'm serious.
