SO !! MUCH !! FUN !! it was refreshing and vapid in a way not many other novels i’ve read have been. it was insightful and introspective while knowing when to let the characters just be pretentious young women partying for a summer in new york city. it won’t be for everyone but it was certainly for me.
late review, don't remember it super well now but i'd say i had fun and i love a strong narrator voice, wish i'd read instead of listened
3/5 … Good, not bad, not great! It’s diary entries, which I have a love/hate with. No plot, just vibes. Semi-annoying characters, but also relatable in some ways.

Another killer account of women breaking the norm (@Nora's dissertation!!). Loved Granados's voice and found this to be a fun read that also made me think a lot about young womanhood in a city.
ohhhh the adventures of isa and gala!!! what a time to be alive. what was most interesting to me about this book was actually revealing the underbelly of this “new york party scene” lifestyle. as someone who grew up wanting to be in new york so badly it felt a bit telling to see that not everything that glitters is gold.
isa and her diaries and her story captivated me the most. her perspective on grief and also how she moves through life is one part delusional and one part inspiring honestly.
a solid read. the escapades got a bit blahhhhhh in the middle but when they were good - aka the entire hamptoms part - they were good!
