Let me tell you a little secret. When you start this series, it will own you. Or maybe it's just me. This series is consuming me. I cannot get enough. The chracters are so vivid, so heartbreakingly real, that I feel like I am lving in this fictional world. Thank you T. Torrest for creating such a riveting romance. A moving, tear jerking, love story that I cannot devour quickly enough.
I love Layal and Trip's chemistry. I love their banter. I love them. And this story kinda destroys my hope for them. I don't want to give away too much here, but I hate this cliffhanger. Yes it ends with a cliffhanger. And I am so freaking miserable I could cry.

Noooooo! what's gonna happen next? I need to know!

This was so up and down for me,  but I loved it.

I love Trip and Layla. I also love Lusa and Pick. I can't wait to hear more about their story.

I can't wait to read more.

Frustrating circumstances. I LOVE it and 'm so excited for the conclusion. <3

The first book in this series is phenomenal. I read it a couple days ago and can't stop thinking about it! Unfortunately, (even though I still enjoyed it) the next book in the series fell short of living up to my expectations.

I think the 9 year jump is what did it for me. It's too much. Layla and Trip had such distinct voices in the first novel that I felt like somewhat got lost in this flash forward.

I feel like the author should have taken this book in an entirely different direction. Instead, she kind of turned Layla and Trip into assholes.
SpoilerWhile Trip is in NY and Layla is meeting up with him, she repeatedly says that she's not cheating. She is. Her denial of it just makes it worse.
It was extremely difficult not to hate both Layla and Trip during the majority of this book. They both just seemed to turn into awful people- Drinking, cheating, doing stupid things, being dramatic. It was hard for me to deal with these sweet, innocent characters turning into who they are in this book. Neither one of them seem to care about the other's feelings. At the climax of the book when they're supposed to, I don't believe them.

I wish T. Torrest would have explored the time right after college or the time in college where they're trying to let go of each other. It's very hard for me to believe that the night in the tent was the last time they saw each other. They were so in love, but all they do is write a couple letters? No phone calls? No seeing each other at breaks? Did both of these characters never visit home?

While the book was engaging, I was really expecting more from Layla and Trip. I felt like a disappointed mother reading this book. I couldn't believe these children I'd loved and doted on had become these horrible, confused, lost people. I wanted conflict, I wanted them to fight, I didn't want things to be perfect, but I wanted the voices to stay the same. I really feel like this is where the author went wrong- the character's voices did a 180 from the previous book.

Overall, I would recommend it, but only to people who loved the first book as much as I did and need more of the story (regardless of how disappointing the story is).

description

Still lots of words and little content that somehow manage to keep my interest.

I still don't get why
Spoiler Layla was so adamant to stay engaged to a guy she doesn't actually love. I get she didn't think Trip wanted anything serious and long lasting with her, but still. That's no reason for settling for a lukewarm, sorta loveless marriage. And don't get me started on Trip's stupidity and childishness. Proposing to his uninterested, selfish girlfriend as revenge? Seriously? Such petty behavior. I'm disappointed.

Remember When 2 kind of broke my heart, because Layla and Trip just didn't get their timing right. Ever.
