A good solid 3.5
It's by no means a bad book, it serves good old-fashioned nostalgia filled British-Summer Holiday.
If anyone is going into this hoping for a thrilling murder mystery... it ain't. It's mostly a solid, well-built thriller, playing with the reader's mind. But it is still nice for what it is and would definitely recommend it as a Summer Vacation read.

Without venturing into spoiler territory, the ending pumps it up to a 3.5, but that rating is not an option on goodreads...

Just some old time women being hysterical about a mysterious relative - not much happens until the last 40 pages

Just a pleasant read really. It wasn’t too dramatic until the end; the last 40 pages or so it really steps up. Aside from that it was just pleasant to read about their wacky little holiday. I did enjoy the plot though, and I like the way it was executed. I feel as though it matched the style of writing.

Speaking of writing, I saw a lot of reviews saying they didn’t like the old timey English, but I quite enjoyed it. I feel as though it gives more feeling to a book but i suppose not everyone would think that!

I probably wouldn’t recommend it to someone off the top of my head, but if someone mentioned liking a similar theme of book I would definitely recommend! I can see why not everyone would like it though. It’s definitely unique.

Expertly written and plotted, the tension built throughout the book and the characters were so realistic and well drawn.

Such an unexpectedly fun re-issue, captures the British seaside vibe & takes you on a silly and wild ride. The finale is a riot.
