Some of the banter felt a little left of what real people sound like, but I didn’t mind much as it was entertaining.
Towards the last quarter of the story it felt like it dragged a little but I got back into it within a couple of chapters.
Overall a very enjoyable romance with some fun characters.

This is a lighthearted book but that manages to treat important topics too! The main focus is a breath taking romance, and it is steamy (!!). You will undoubtedly get attached to the characters- they are well developed throughout the story. And, most importantly, the book is funny !jadatrack's review against another edition

Nora is a literary agent, and an amazing one. She is great at what she does. She doesn't have time to focus on much else, mostly because she considers herself a realist. We meet Charlie, the surlie editor who doesn't seem to jive with her about what turns into her career changing client and her best selling book. Cut to Nora's baby sister, pregnant with baby #3 and she need a vacation. She wants to visit the hometown setting of the book from the bestseller of Nora's top client. They need the time together.
I was NOT expecting it to be that deep. I laughed, and I damn near cried. I love that it was equally about Nora and her sister healing their miscommunications and relationship, and not just about the romantic side. I loved the focus on healing properly from the past. This book hit me right in the heart. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nora, an intense, no-nonsense literary agent from NYC, finds herself in a sleepy small town in North Carolina with her beloved (and very pregnant) sister for a sibling getaway. While in the town’s sole coffee shop, she runs into Charlie, a successful, stern editor who left a lackluster impression on her back in the big city. Thrown together over her client’s latest manuscript, the two begin to thaw each other’s emotional walls as they discuss duty, grief, regret, belonging, and loneliness.
I genuinely laughed out loud multiple times throughout this; Emily Henry has a way of writing snappy dialogue that feels authentic rather than contrived, and the characters’ inside jokes include the reader, drawing us into their world right alongside them. The scene of place is also very strong, with the odes to New York particularly poignant. And the core romance is both simple and complicated, a testament to the realistic ties that bind and break us.
4.5/5: Another strong romance by Emily Henry with compelling characters, great writing, and an honest heart.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

initial thoughts:
Her best yet. Thought I could savor it but blew through it in 24 hrs. I related so much to the rigidity in these characters, the older-sibling responsibilities, the pain of self-sacrifice. How tender they become towards one another. Fantastic pacing as always, tighter and and perfectly polished in every way. Just perfect.
