The two young MMCs were beautifully written. They both experienced family differently but wanted the same (both experienced death of a mother and sought love and support of their families after). There was culture and tradition threaded throughout their story too (which only drew me in more). The want to do a family member proud (making a traditional dish) is something many people can relate to and I think this brought the book to life so much more for me. It was certainly a ‘feel good’ read.
