The story was cute but the pacing was sooo fast and the writing felt kind of… cold, I think? There were so many scenes and conversations I wish we got to spend more time in, to really develop the relationship between these characters, but as it is now there’s too much tell instead of show and it’s not really believable. Unfortunate, because I liked the premise and I loved how we got to take part in Dylan’s culture, but other than that this didn’t really make me feel anything.

forgot names so guy #1 is mooncake dude and guy #2 is rich guy.
the money and the dad of guy #2 is what made this weird. without the Wealth Inequality (/s) and without the dad being weird i think it would have been better. somewhat better. oh and also the really mean friend dude. wait, what happened to that friend dude. did that plot line just disappear??? i would not stay friends with the mean guy if i were guy #2.
like guy #2 does nothing else for this plot but Be Rich. business failing? Money. business flooded? Money. need ingredients for mooncakes asap? Money. need to insert cliche romcom plot points? Rich family wedding. he offers literally nothing else to the plot. guy #1 is killing it being a total problem solver and working hard and then guy #2 just shows up and throws money at everything.
ALSO both being a rich dude and liking abstract expressionism is lowkey a red flag LOL because of how weirdly sexist that movement is
