I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author did a great job of telling a beautiful love story and incorporating her and the characters’ culture. Through her writing, Sher Lee introduces the Mid-Autumn festival and its significance in Chinese culture. All the characters were written nicely, and I found everyone had a place within the plot. It’s a story about family ( and its complexities), sacrifices, love (familial and romantic), and a bit of grief.

Absolute guilty pleasure binge read. Some of the dialogue was a bit lengthy, but this was so fun.

its a really cute YA book!! i really loved the singapore/chinese rep bc u dont see that a lot so that was really heartwarming. as an asian ive found it hard to find books with accurate representation, and without it overwhelming the plot. the thing i loved the most about this story was how integral the asian rep was to the plot, instead of a very in-your-face info dump. characters were all super lovable, but i felt like i was left wanting more from the side characters :( all in, 4.75 id definitely reread it if i need to unwind <3
If I hadn't have listened to the audiobook, I wouldn't have put so many stars in this review. I just really hated how insecure Dylan was about his relationship with Theo. There was no point for him to have been so insecure!! That along with the millennial type of writing and gags such as the "funny" shirts that Dylan wore throughout the story kind of ruined the book for me.
