Not much fun listening to!
Was so excited to listen to the audiobook but it wasn't for me :|

Reading this book made me feel like I was watching a Hallmark movie. The characters were relatable, but their lives were so unachievable. The whole time reading this I wanted a rich boyfriend, family who accepted you for you, & a Snow Skin Mooncake.

Going back to the mooncake, the author did an amazing job of sharing different Asian cultures in a respectful and appreciating way. It was refreshing to learn about the good in other cultures.

I loved this book at the beginning. It was so cute and fun. But it felt very rushed, with way too many subplots. Theo is kind of a difficult character in parts which never really gets resolved. Would’ve been better with half the plot being more developed and leaving out the extra stuff.

This book was cute. It definitely has all of the feels and twists like that of a Korean or Chinese drama. If you want something cute, fast, and relatively light hearted with a good mix of culture and poignant emotional moments, you should read this.

For the reviews that are talking about the insta-love, I feel like perhaps you don’t remember what it was like to be a teenager who fell in love. Love is fast and passionate whether you want it to be or not at that age. Also, there’s only so much time in a 262 page book where they can fall in love. (I like slow burns but let’s be realistic.)

This book is fast paced and I think some of the subplots are a bit messy—maybe there were too many—but overall, it does a good job tying everything up by the ending. It has a lot of great emotional points and the talk about Chinese folklore, Singaporean culture, and grief all felt very natural and heartfelt. I learned a lot with feeling!!

My one major complaint is that the group chosen for Megan to be obsessed with was Blackpink, who does not release things often enough as described in the book. I felt that was the most unrealistic thing as a kpop fan

Cheesy and mostly just fluff, but thar's just what you need sometimes. (Also there was ko miscommunication and most of the bad stuff was resolved pretty fast)
