I loved this…. SO much.

I loved this book. I loved how all the characters had their own flaws and could recognize them and try to be better. There should’ve been a trigger warning for the sexual assaults, and I did have to stop reading a couple of times throughout because I was crying and couldn’t see through my tears. All in all it was very quirky and thought provoking with the debate of science and religion and I loved it. I loved Six Thirty and he is one of the best characters I’ve ever read.

~4.25~

A 5 is on the high side, but had to give it for a solid 4.5. This book combines a great theme of educating on how sexist the US was in the 1950s to 1960s with a good story and great characters. It is easy to love Elizabeth Zott, who despite the obstacles, has a loyalty to the truth, speaking it and acting on it despite the obstacles. The trait of speaking the truth is so compelling, that people are drawn even to otherwise very bad people when they have the courage to speak the truth. But Elizabeth is a very good person, and you will want her to succeed. You will like her like you liked Mr. Spock. Even though she is stoic, you know there is a heart in there. The author is clever about creating and tying together a number of story lines onto one fantastic climactic ending.

Started out slow, but picked up after page 100. Made me laugh a few times, made me frustrated, and made me want to watch the show
