Good, highly readable account of Sesame Street and the other educational TV shows of the 1970s. Not as comprehensive as [b:Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street|3111697|Street Gang The Complete History of Sesame Street|Michael Davis|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1349115967l/3111697._SY75_.jpg|3142975] but definitely more accessible. Kamp does a good job of placing the rise of these shows in a historical context, and ends in the less sunny days of the 21st century, where Sesame Street has become more of a "kiddie" show, DVDs of early episodes are targeted towards Gen X adults for their nostalgic value rather than their educational potential, and new episodes of Sesame Street are available only to HBO Max subscribers. But it's a kick to read and remember the Street, as well as The Electric Company and Zoom. We're fortunate to have lived in a time where shows like this were allowed to flourish.
