I’m seriously happy one of my fave writing duos are back in action and that ‘The Step Bet’ is the start of a new series for them.

Troy and Atlas are two sweet college juniors who are stepbrothers and broken by circumstance who deal with their pain differently but have so much in common.

OMG the text flirting was hot! Loved this book, an excellent low angst stepbro grumpy/sunshine romance.

There wasn't anything glaringly wrong with this book. But it was incredibly forgettable. Theoretically it should've been pretty good. I love the idea of escalating bets that drive the relationship between the MCs. (Check out Don't You Dare by C.E. Ricci if you want to see a version of this done really well.) But there was only one steamy bet in a book with bet in the title. I also thought the characters weren't interesting or distinguishable at all. There was no tension, and I didn't believe in their attraction. Honestly, I finished this book about a week ago and put off writing my review at the time. When I sat down to do it now, I had to reread the synopsis first, because I couldn't remember a single thing about the story. After just a week. That's pretty much all you need to know.
