The Great Gatsby was slow to pull me in, but once it did, I found myself quietly captivated. I connected deeply with Nick, his introspection and quiet presence felt familiar, grounding me in a world full of extravagance and illusions. Gatsby and Daisy’s story struck me as painfully tragic. Gatsby’s hope felt pure, even noble, while Daisy... well, Daisy and Tom felt like rich assholes, careless and self-centred, wrecking lives without consequence.
The novel left me feeling hollow and contemplative. It made me think about how we chase after empty dreams, how selfishness disguises itself in charm, and how the things we value might not be worth the cost. Fitzgerald’s writing though...Is stunning. He has a way of wrapping sorrow and beauty together in a single sentence, and I found myself re-reading lines just to sit with their weight.

all the characters are shallow, passive-aggresive humans. all white people with privilege that they abuse. this is not a good book. theres tons of grammatical errors too. i dont understand why this book would be required reading in school. theres not enought character development for me to continue and it looks like it doesnt get better.

WOW, just WOW! F. Scott Fitzgerald has created a beautiful masterpiece and I can say this is one of my favorite novels of all time!

All to impress the one he loved the most. Chasing the past and clinging to childish, yet endearing hopes for the future. All, just for the rich to be unscathed while he had endured for his Daisy.
A nice and quick read that further illustrates that even true love is doomed to fail if materialistic needs are not covered. Oh Daisy... 'I'm glad it's a girl. And I hope she'll be a fool – that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.'
I'd like to believe that Daisy had loved Gatsby in the only ways she knew she could. Society demanded her to be fragile and beautiful that relies on her partner. And she relied on Gatsby - even when it came to cover for her.
