It was fun to read this but this book didn't captivate me. Simply put, this book's not for me. It was way too long read for me. The story me be good but it was all over the place. It was too boring and trust me when I say that it gave me a headache. I quite like Lowrie though.

I loved this book! It was hilarious! And a little bit poignant--Meg is a 14 year old who dies in a terrible gun/gas tank accident. The scales are perfectly balanced between her good and bad deeds, so she is sent back as a ghost to try to add some "blue" to her aura. The conversations between dead Meg and dying Lowrie McCall are much more lighthearted than one might expect, and Belch, the half-dog half-stupid sixteen year old villain, is comically incompetent.

I really loved this book. It had all the things I love about Colfer (great plot, humor, interesting uses for technology in an alternate reality, and just wonderful writing) but at the same time, it was just a good story about...well, redemption. About doing the right thing. About making amends. And I have to say, what Meg did to her stepdad...bravo, girl! Bravo!!!

I would recommend this book. I hope that a lot of kids have read this book. I hope it at least got them thinking about how their actions affect others. And got them thinking about how to make the most of this life.

Colfer, you amaze me.

Fun nostalgic read. Maybe I found the spark that made me love this kind of story?? Retelling of biblical stories made modern/angels and demons on earth meddling in human affairs/ heaven and hell as real places

Thinking of Sarahland’s great story, Ladies& Gentlemen: The Bible! by J Goldstein, the devil as a character in Perdido Street Station, Daydreams of Angels by Heather O’Neill… all these stick in my memory & finding this blast from the past was like ooooh yeah Artemis Fowl who?

Meg and Belch are killed in an explosion after they attempt to rob an old man, and while Belch goes to hell, Meg finds herself with a perfectly balanced record of good and bad deeds. Hijinks abound as she is sent back to earth to make amends and help the old man complete his wish list of regrets before he, too, passes on. It's a tale full of action and teen sass, and not much else. I was disappointed by how flat it was, considering Colfer crafted the entire world of Artemis Fowl -- I was expecting something of that caliber. Overall, not bad but entirely forgettable.
