I loved this book because I learned something new. I was unaware of this aspect of Chinese culture. This is a great example of learning from picture books at any age! I like the fictional story because I can use this book as a teaching tool for social skills. What I enjoyed is that the girls creatively found ways to meet each other and kept trying even when things were hard. I think this could be a great discussion book with kids of any age. The illustrations were beautiful as well. The two girls are beautiful and I loved how most of the book is grays and blues except for the girls coats. This was a fascinating book.

This could work for preschool if abridged, but it would be perfect for an early elementary audience.

When I find a picture book that teaches me something new, I always get very excited. This one was interesting and cute.
