This was literally a breath of fresh air, a short, well-written story, full of sweet characters and a catching narrative with the little twist at the end to bring about the novel full circle. The atmosphere created by this book is so pleasant it really feels like a read you have to do while shading under a mango tree near the sea.
It's so nice to think I'll be able to show such beautiful stories about a little girl living on a Caribbean island to the kids I'll have one day. Kereen Getten mad such a great job at crafting a great dynamic between each member of the community depicted here and places such as Eldorath house or the river near Sycamore are vividly depicted and as someone who grew in a small community, I was really brought back to the sensation of knowing everybody around, from the fishermen to the store owner.
I would definitely place this book in the hands of any who needs a short read to breeze through and the novel being simple enough to be middle grade while still able to entertain adults makes it a great one to read with your child.
I don't really have much else to say, just buy it, support the author because you will not regret this pick.

A sweet

Wow! This is a warm, touching read about friendship, family, loss and acceptance with a heck of a twist.
