It was interesting reading this book after the last season of the show and knowing every wife left Kody except Robyn! I’d absolutely read something similar with their perspectives now! I like that the wives came across even more honest about things in their past than in the show. Nothing too deep was explored but I liked getting to know more of their personal thoughts without the tv show spin!

I’ve been wanting to read this for a while and I’m not gonna lie I’m kinda glad I waited till now to read it….the biggest thing I got is KODY IS LYING EITHER NOW OR THEN. Which one I actually appreciate how each women was upfront with their problems in this book if the problems were pushed under a rug or handled incorrectly I believe it wasn’t as much their fault as I thought it was. They are so honest and upfront with it.

Fascinating look into the polygamist lifestyle and why it is the way it is. There is so many more questions I would like to ask, but many of them are too personal, and I understand why they wouldn't want to answer. I do wish they would go into more of how the finances work, for example. I did love reading about how they met and how they try to make everything work. Fun read if you are a fan of the show!

I really enjoyed this book, but that is held up largely by the fact that I'm a huge fan of the show. If you're not a fan of the show, you won't enjoy this book. That's plain and simple, mainly because you have to know the personalities of the women, Kody, and their kids to give each section a tone of voice--otherwise you're just reading the same story five times.
If you are a fan of the show, you will definitely hear the voices of all four wives come through. I'm personally a huge fan of Christine and Mary, and their stories were my favorite to read. I have no opinion about Robyn, but I have Janelle--and the book made me hate her even more.
If you have a wife you don't like, the memoir will likely just reinforce your hatred of them. You don't learn much, especially if you watched the show's special after the book came out. But it's still nice to add a few details to the stories you already know.

I liked the book. I had already got to know the Brown's through their show. I know not everything we see is the way it is truly, but in the book it explains some of my questions. I can see why people choose this lifestyle, but it is not something to take lightly. I think even if you are not "religious" in the typical sense, but think you may want think about that lifestyle, this is a good book for you to read.

don't ask me why i picked this up because i honestly don't know. i guess i was curious after watching the brown family dynamic for a couple of years on TLC and wanted to know "what where how and why?" that happened. i guess i kind of regret picking this up? idk i feel like i would've been better off just sticking to the tv show. i won't lie there were some moments where i smiled at the irony after seeing the family now and the things that they'd said years ago.
