I really loved all the stories there were a couple I didn’t like as much but I accidentally deleted my individual reviews so….

This is a cute, easy listen. I liked some of the stories a lot! The last couple short stories were harder for me to get through.

A short Story collections of old and new stories by Rainbow Rowell.
Midnights 3☆
Quite emotional. I could feel how hard the other midnights were for Mags. Glad she got her midnight as well.
While Noel seems somewhat flakey, I hope they work out.
Kindred spirits 3.5☆
This was very cute and so amazingly nerdy. Just some people who love a franchise.
I personally am not a fan of Star Wars or sci-fi at all, but I appreciated the love the characters had for it.
The camping in front of movie theaters used to be such a huge and cultural thing. It is kind of sad that it is not really happening anymore.
(Although when similar events happen today, they often turn chaotic, so maybe it's for the best...)
Winter songs for Summer 4☆
Very emotional and cute.
While this again did not have any topics that are of interest to me (sports, fitness, music/mix tapes), I still really enjoyed it.
This is the first story I really felt the characters feelings.
Also: 'Big guy', huge even.
The snow ball 2☆
Did not like this one. Both characters were annoying in their own ways. Just talking in circles. (I totally get Libby tho.)
Happy this was only a short Story...
I might actually even rate this lower if I thought about it more.
If the fates allow 2.5☆
Christmas Covid story.
The most interesting part about this was the Jell-O salad.
Why were they just kissing out of the blue? I guess it was meant to be because they had not interacted with many people and maybe were touch-starved or something?
I don't know, it felt kinda weird and random.
The prince and the Troll 4☆
Very interesting. A mix of fantasy, Wizard of Oz and modern times.
I like Adam -the not prince-, and her -the bridge Troll?-.
I actually quite enjoyed it, even if I have a lot of questions about the world. (Alas, it is a short Story...)
Mixed messages 3☆
I didn't like the text message part. The conversation was somewhat weird and annoying to follow.
I did like the later part tho.
Snow for Christmas 4.5☆
It was great to see these guys again.
I am happy we got to see another glimpse into their lifes after the books.
Although I always wanted to see more about Simon and his newly discovered family and this story only really mentions them, I am so happy we got to see more about their
In waiting 4☆
A really interesting concept, which I enjoyed a lot!
Seeing (fictional) characters in limbo after they have been thought up bit not yet committed to page was really intriguing. Especially the different stages of fleeting ideas to nearly fully developed characters. Also how they can change over time or very quickly with just a thought.
Overall
I would recommend this collection, but it does suffer from the same problem most short story collections do. It is a mixed bag, you never know what you get and there will most probably be great highs but also low lows.
At least it's always a quick read.

Read for the Simon and Baz story - it was so sweet, we deserved this as part of the book epilogue.

A sweet collection of short stories, a few I recognized from other books. The stories are good, interesting and fun. I have come to learn I don't like short stories as much now though... Just as you are getting to know a character they are done with their story too soon. I'm this book each ended with a feeling of a continuation to be known in some other place or book...I like short stories more if they feel finished, wrapped up in a satisfying ending.. Not a launch to more adventures of unknown future.. I'm sure others like this format though and each story was interesting or sweet or funny or mysterious. It was a bunch of interesting stories I would like to hear more of...
Som novellsamlingar kan vara så gillade till älskade jag några och kände att vissa mest blev en sträcka till nästa novell… Hade kanske hoppats på något mer som bröt det heteronormativa än att jag kort fick återse Baz och Simon.
