I loved this. I'm not usually one to read short stories, but I'll read anything Rainbow Rowell writes. "In Waiting" was probably my favorite story in this collection. I loved the premise - unused characters an author has dreamed up, some very defined and others not, all of them waiting to see if they'll fade or solidify into a book. I would love a whole Anna & James book.

Kijk. It was meant to be.

Yup.

I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed short stories of romance. They’re not all winners but you can see her playing and experimenting in ways she can’t with a full novel.

Do note that I only read “Snow For Christmas”. I’ve no interest in the other short stories so this review is entirely for that specific one. It was good. I’d missed reading about them. Despite the third book in the Simon snow trilogy being a dumpster fire, that didn’t make me dislike the pair at all.

This series of short stories was just okay. I liked some more than others, with my favourite being the first story. It was a bit unfocused—some more YA, some adult, some seasonal, some not. It would certainly be more enjoyable if you’ve read Rainbow Rowell’s other books (I’ve only read a handful). I think this would be enjoyable for RR fans but skippable for everyone else.
