A little too much runaround for my taste, but a delightful read. I'm quite enjoying Ms. Mansell' novels in the way one indulges in a chocolate truffle: sweet like candy and not to be consumed constantly :)

As the season for light-hearted beach reads approach, Jill Mansell’s To The Moon and Back sets itself up as a must have book for your beach bag. If you’re a fan of Liane Moriarty, Katie Fforde, or Harriet Evans then Jill Mansell is your new comfort author.
The book opens with the death of Jamie in a car accident, leaving his wife Ellie, his father Tony, and his best friend Todd to deal with the emotional fallout. It then jumps forward almost a year and a half where Ellie is facing the difficulty of moving on with her life. The book is centered on Ellie and her journey through pain and loss to forgiveness and allowing herself to fall in love again. Mansell has made all her characters compellingly complete no matter how secondary a character and you find yourself just as invested in the lives of Tony, Todd, and Ellie’s neighbor Roo as you are in Ellie’s life. The multiple storylines are seamlessly interwoven and read as being completely natural to the progression of the novel.
Mansell’s writing is clear and easily draws you in to Ellie’s story, making To the Moon and Back perfect a day at the beach.

Intelligently written but a little ridiculous.

I love Jill Mansell, she writes the cutest, sad, lovey dovey stories & you fall in love with the characters.
