Starts with a great premise: an epic challenge inspired by the real life challenge of the Swordquest video game series. Went downhill quickly. Unfortunately tedious, misogynistic, and transphobic at times. The characters are flat and Wade is awful. He literally calls himself a "nice guy" in the last scene of the book, and he is every bit the stereotypical "nice guy".

I watched the movie before reading this and quite enjoyed it. I found out the book is quite different to the movie so I thought I'd give it a go. Unfortunately, I was quite bored and decided I didn't really care to read any more. There's plenty of other books I could be reading.
