just not for me. i had to ask myself "if something was to happen to any of the characters right now, would i care?"... my answer was no. i felt no affection nor care for the main characters, the world building was unique and the writing was plausible... but the plot felt too slow.

This was fun! YA without feeling cheesy or juvenile, more just based on the age of the characters and speed of the plot. Along with that more than a few things happened that were a bit too good to be true, but I suppose that balances out with the misfortunes that also befall the main character. Rating bump for the unique world building that I'm looking forward to seeing expanded.

4.75 stars. Rounded up. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thorn. Ugh. He’ll get there, I hope. Ophelia. Not sure why I love her so much but she’s actually amazing. Aunt Rosaline. It took a bit but we are friends. I’m excited to continue this series. This book has definitely set up a great amount for the remainder of the series and I can wait!

Très bonne lecture j'ai vraiment été absorber du début à la fin. Il est vrai qu'il y a quelques moments un peu ennuyants et on a du mal à comprendre où va l'histoire au début. Même si il n'y a pas vraiment de finalité, je trouve la fin beaucoup plus agréable que le début du livre, il y a enfin eu peu d'action et Ophelie commence a devenir intéressante. J'espère vraiment que le personnage d'Ophélie évoluera dans le 2e tome après son déclic car c'est frustrant d'avoir une héroïne qui ne se parle qu'à elle même.
Hâte et intriguée de connaître la suite de l'histoire.
P.S: même si la romance est quasi inexistante, j'ai adoré les moments où Thorn montrait (vraiment très légèrement) ses sentiments.
